Hello my name is Helen…
I have worked with children for 16 years. I studied at Brooklands College gaining my NNEB diploma in Nursery Nursing. My first job was in a nursery setting as a nursery nurse. Throughout the years I have worked with all ages from 3 months to 5 years progressing to managing a nursery. My most recent job was in a Montessori nursery where I worked for 12 years and gained my level 4 and Montessori diploma there.
I have loved working with all ages and it has been so rewarding watching the children develop and become independent little people and ready for the next chapter at school.
I am married with two children, my eldest was born in 2011 and my youngest was born in 2014. This has been the most amazing journey becoming a mum and I love every minute.
Becoming a childminder has enabled me to still be there for my children but also continue with my career, which I love very much.
I have lived in Woking all my life and my children now attend the school I went too as a child. We have fantastic parks, two of which are walking distance. There is also a leisure centre in walking distance and Woking town centre which has a great library that does rhyme time and has a great book area for children.
I enjoy exploring outdoors with my children, we are very lucky to live near so many places that children can run free and get lots of fresh air. We have national trust passes so lots of exciting adventures to be had.

My name is Joanne but I like to be called Jo…
I also go by aliases of mum, to my children, and Jojo by many children (and their parents) that I have previously looked after! To be honest I pretty much answer to anything!
I live with my three boys and my husband. I have been working in childcare since I left college in 1998. I always knew from a young age that I wanted to look after children, helping them to develop into the young people they wanted to become, so I pursued my ambition by studying for my NNEB.
My career has seen me working as a practitioner in large day nurseries, nannying, managing an after school provision and most recently managing a large day care setting. I have experience working with varying ages of children from birth to teenagers. During this time I have completed many training courses such as First Aid, Safeguarding and Makaton which have helped me fulfill my roles. I think it is important to attend courses as it helps me to develop my practice which in turn helps the children to thrive.
Since having my youngest son, life for us has changed, so felt now is the right time to start working from home whilst allowing me to continue to do what I love most.
We moved into our family home a few years ago, both myself and my husband grew up around the local area, and have extended our house to include a safe and inviting purpose built playroom for the children to enjoy and explore.
